| Abstract | This article proposes to analyze how the computer and the internet can act as facilitators of the literacy process of students with intellectual disabilities Who participate in the specialized educational assistance (aee) and Who are experiencing difficulties in the literacy process, plus their potentialities and their cognitive and socialization possibilities. The goals were put to the use of computers and the internet as facilitators of the literacy process of students with intellectual disabilities and the stimulation of the students 'imagination and desire to learn through the use of computers and the internet, as well as the students' the use of these tools. Three students were analyzed, being 2 of the 2nd year with a chronological age of 7 years and 1 in the 5th year with a chronological age of 12 years. The study brings the use of the computer and the internet as facilitators of the literacy process of students with intellectual disabilities who are experiencing difficulties in this process. At the conclusion of the work, some results obtained and the importance of using the computer and the internet as facilitators in the teaching process of students with intellectual disabilities are demonstrated. |
