| Abstract | In the first part of this Final Project, a review from a theoretical point of view of the concept of corporate strategy is made. This specifically looks at the growth strategy at corporate level, distinguishing between the different directions and development methods. Based on these concepts a practical analysis of the multinational Coca-Cola Company, which is the world leader in soft drink beverages, is presented describing its business philosophy as well as the directions and methods used in its business growth process. Thus, the analysis suggests that the Coca-Cola Company has experienced significant growth throughout its 130 year history, using almost all directions of development. To accomplish this, growth strategy has been based mainly on development methods such as acquisitions and cooperation agreements. However, given the difficult economic situation, the company could try to improve its position, by Crecimiento empresarial a nivel corporativo 2 betting on related variations of diversification within its core business, e.g. creating its own chain of restaurants, or by developing more drastic strategies, that also enable it to reduce global risk through non-core diversification. |
