| Abstract | The number of undernourished people globally increased to 815 million compared to 777 million people in 2015. When comparing these figures with the survey of the ENSIN (2015), it was evident that in the country the prevalence of ISAH was reduced to 54.2% with respect to 2010, when it stood at 57.7%. As a result, rural family farming (AFC) is invoked as the alternative to industrial agriculture and in turn helps to mitigate food insecurity. However, although there are studies at the national level that show the relationship between family farming either with food security or with food sovereignty, they consider them separate and not as a complement that makes important contributions to local communities. For this reason, this project sought through qualitative research to determine the characteristics of the AFC and its contribution to food security and sovereignty (SSA) in Tibasosa, Turmeque and Ventaquemada, Boyaca. For this, a case study was carried out with 25 farming families from the three municipalities, obtaining empirical evidence regarding: their productive trajectory during the last 50 years; its characteristics of production systems; its agricultural management practices and the main destinations of its agricultural products. Finally, the inter-institutional relations of the public and private sectors and non-governmental organizations were determined. The above, in order to know how these relationships have influenced and contributed to the SSA of each municipality. |
