| Abstract | Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis is an inflammatory disease affecting central nervous system (CNS). It appears in children and young adults and tends to course monophasically. Its multiphasic evolution is exceptional and enables the differential diagnosis with multiple sclerosis. This paper presents the case of a four-year-old girl who presented three acute outbreaks of CNS-demielinization with good evolution. A propose of this case, the differential clinical and radiological characteristics between multiple sclerosis and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis are discussed. |
