Abstract	This article seeks to relate ICT and education, in particular adult education, so as to analyse the incidence of ICT on this form of teaching and to emphasise certain aspects of this relationship such as: Information Technology and, specifically, Internet as part of the educational programme in a new area of education. It highlights the need to differentiate between the computer room and computing in the classroom. The role that ICT should play as a tool in the teaching-learning process. Internet as a means of accessing information, documentation and resources in the teaching and education of adults. The challenges that the use of Internet and, in particular, some of the services offered, such as virtual platforms, create for institutions and teachers. For years now, Dr Florentino Sanz Fernández has focused his attention on these aspects. This article is a tribute to his commitment and dedication to Adult Education.
