| Abstract | This essay is to present a critical view of the role that universities play in the implementation of competency based training model, expression of new forms of work and social relations in contemporary economy. The Universities as center of human capital formation, have been transformed under a totalizing vision of economic rationality. This is clairvoyance in the process of accreditation, standardization, and in general regulation of education. There is a crossroads, in the sense that the academic community fits the pattern of reproduction of capital, or rather we come together to rethink the role of higher education, as it has become private property, under the dynamic market, functional training demands of work, to the detriment of the professions and the development of thought and knowledge to the structural change of society. |
