| Abstract | Employing only basic arithmetic and algebraic techniques that would have been known to Fermat, and utilizing alternate computation methods for arriving at $\sqrt[n]{c^n}$, we identify a governing relationship between $\sqrt{(a^2 + b^2)}$ and $\sqrt[n]{(a^n + b^n)}$ (for all $n > 2$), and are able to establish that $c = \sqrt[n]{(a^n + b^n)}$ can never be an integer for any value of $n > 2$. |
