Abstract	Early research focused on the potential's study of microorganisms to biodegrade contaminants were performed in mid 1946 and 1950, this intentional "use" received the name "Bioremediation". At present, both surface water and groundwater are being polluted as product of human activities, suffering eutrophication in different regions of the world. An alternative to the wastewater treatment is the Phycoremediation, that is, the nutrient removal and heavy metals a way of secondary treatment using algae.
