| Abstract | An ins t rument for determining the shape and in tens i ty distribut ion of particle and X-ray beams has been developed using an image intensifier tube together wi th a bundle of filaments of scintillator. A description of the use of such a device in high energy, low intensity, secondary meson and proton beams is given. I t is shown t h a t the sensi t ivi ty of th is instrumen t represents a significant improvement over a l ternat ive techniques. |
