Abstract	espanolSe da cuenta del estudio en que se identifico la percepcion que tienen los hombres y las mujeres de la comunidad de Siberia -en el sur de Costa Rica- de los roles masculinos y femeninos en relacion con los recursos naturales. Se trabajo con una muestra de 53 personas considerando ninos(as), adolescentes, adultos/as y adultos/as mayores. Los principales hallazgos giraron en torno al hecho de que las percepciones de los/as sujetos/as son similares, independientemente de su genero y su edad. Mayormente, la interpretacion que los/as participantes hacen de la variable en estudio es que los hombres tienen un rol frente a los recursos naturales bastante mas activo que el de las mujeres; a ellos se les considera en mayor contacto con los recursos, mucho mas responsables de su deterioro, un poco mas obligados a cuidarlos y casi completamente a cargo de pensar y desarrollar nuevas formas de uso que se caractericen por ser amigables. EnglishThe research identified the perceptions that men and women of the community of Siberia –south of Costa Rica- have about the male and female roles in regard to Natural Resources. The 53 study samples consisted of different age groups of both men and women: children, adolescents, adults and seniors. The most important findings, were that the perceptions of each study group were similar, regardless of their sex or age. The interpretation of the participants regarding the study’s variable, is that the role of men towards Natural Resources is much more active than women’s; they are considered to be more in touch with resources, much more responsible of their deterioration, more obliged to take care of nature and almost completely in charge of thinking and developing new ways to use Natural Resources, in a friendly environmental way.
