| Abstract | This article presents a current research project, included in the Transnat program (IHMC, Saarbrucken Univ.), supported by the ANR and DFG. This historical study of the translation of literature into French adopts quantitative as well as editorial historical perspectives. In this article, we endeavor to demonstrate through the initial results how, for instance, the articulation of quantitative and spatial history of arts and literature may question the traditional thesis of cultural studies on translation: that this hybridizing operation is a phenomenon of fringes, borders and peripheries.
