| Abstract | The Chapada dos Veadeiros in your slope in the municipality of Alto Paraiso de Goias, has several tourist attractions such as the “mystique” that permeates its location, the exuberant nature and the presence of quartz crystals. In this way we seek to understand how the city received its first settlements, until the attraction of groups called mystical or esoteric, characteristic phenomenon of postmodernity, a period marked by deinstitutionalization and pluralization of religiosity. The methodology is based on dialogues with authors to dealing with the Reenchantment of the World, the historical analysis of the pioneer’s occupations in territory of Alto Paraiso and the arrival of esoteric groups after the construction of Brasilia.
