Abstract	The article presents the authors' comments on the importance of training for the labor market position of immigrants in the Netherlands. The author makes specific reference to certain researches conducted by sociologists in this regard, and compare their methods with that of their own. The authors hold that a considerable part of the difference in labor market position between immigrants and autochthons is still unexplained.
