| Abstract | Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the influence of Kinesio taping (KT) application, with different tensions, on the myoelectric activation of biceps brachial. Methodology: 22 subjects participated in the study (11 female and 11 male), aged between 18 and 32 years (23.00 ± 2.93). All participants were evaluated under three different conditions of KT application (0%, 25% and 50% tension) and the electromyographic activity was evaluated during the initial rest and during the three repetitions of biceps maximum voluntary contraction. Results: There were no statistical significant differences in the myoelectric activity of biceps between different KT tensions applied. Conclusion: The application of different tensions on KT does not appear to influence the myoelectric activity of biceps during maximum voluntary contractions, for healthy individuals. |
