| Abstract | Acoustic Love wave sensors constitute an advantageous solution for the detection of (bio)chemical quantities in liquid environments. Those sensors present a notorious potential to result from mature industry (surface acoustic wave filters) and take advantage of proven technical benefits (gravimetric sensitivity, compensation for thermal effects, differential measurements). These works have developed measurement systems based on surface acoustic waves (SAW) sensor in liquid phase. Theoretical tools have been validated in this sense. Two technological approaches have been used to package SAW sensors, compatible with wafer-level batch process, one based on polymers and the other one with silicon and glass. A detailed study has been carried out about the effect of adding the packaging system on the acoustic wave propagation way's. The validation of the carried out system of measurement has been obtained by the detection of gold nanoparticles in liquid medium. The follow-up of the various stages of detection by the sensor in real time has showed the advantages of SAW sensors compared to the traditional methods of measurement of analytical biochemistry. |
