Abstract	This study intiated to understand the relationship between emotional intelligence and anxiety in preparation for labor on pregnant women with youth age. The hypothesis proposed was that there was a negative relationship between emotional intelligence and anxiety in preparation for labor on pregnant women with youth age. The subjects of this study is 77 pregnant women with characteristics aged 16-21 years with the content of the third trimester (27 weeks end of pregnancy). Data research were collected by Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale (TMAS) and emotional intelligence scale, then analyzed by product momet correlation from Karl Pearson. Based on the results of data analysis, obtained the correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0.368 (p ≤ 0.050). The results showed that there is a negative relationship between emotional intelligence and anxiety in preparation for childbirth in teenage pregnant women. Based on the result, the coefficient of determination (R) of 0.135 which means emotional intelligence give contribution of 13.5% to anxiety in preparation for childbirth while 86.5% is influenced by other factors.
