| Abstract | We calculate the richness and alpha and beta diversity of the amphibians and reptiles of the State of Mexico to help in the identification of the regions of greatest importance for its conservation. We performed an analysis of 10 992 records pertaining to the State. Also we calculated species richness and rates of Simpson and Whittaker by mean of the pakage diva 5.0. Areas with the highest value of diversity alpha, beta diversity and species richness, were overlapped to identify the larger value for conservation. There are higher values of alpha diversity in many parts of the state, while the beta diversity shows an intermediate situation. The three areas of highest conservation value were located in the south-center, southeast and west of State, that show the larger criteria numbers. |
