| Abstract | This work is part of the relationship Science, Technology, Society - Environment and falls from formal education, to discuss alternatives that can offer the Museum of Morphology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Antioquia in the field of culture health prevention and the contribution it can make to those existing educational models in prevention. We used the qualitative research paradigm mixed with interviews and participant observation technique in the eighth grade students of Institucion Educativa Diego Echavarria Misas in Medellin Colombia in research: An approach to smoking prevention from of alternative conceptions: the use of the museum as a teaching resource. The results showed that for the prevention of smoking and any disease in general, are not enough existing educational models based health prevention in affective cognitive theories, social learning, social engagement and attachment conventional, problem behavior, sphere of influence and multimodal programs, due to generational changes that have suffered the motivations of objects of intervention subjects. By using the Museum was detected in the experimental group prevention strategies were spontaneous students, went to their known and questioned how we learn about prevention, while in the control group, prevention strategies were derived from teacher information and there was no change in motivation regarding preventive actions. |
