Abstract	This course conclusion monograph presents an analysis on the theme Leadership, directed to the government. The subject studied was limited to the area of research in the Ministry of Finance of the State of Rio Grande do Sul was sought to examine how leadership is the exercise of the agency cited, and the impacts that this exercise because when the offer of services. It is also part of this basic research proposal of offering a course to improve the exercise of leadership in the body. This monograph is classified as a case study is exploratory and its character. The methodology of data analysis applied in this study is qualitative and descriptive, limited to direct observation, document analysis and interviews were applied. This interview was carried out through a semistructured script. The analysis of what was observed and experienced was based on authors cited throughout this work in order to bring in government agencies, academia and the reality. Our objectives were: a) Report how is the exercise of leadership by some managers, occupying strategic positions at the Treasury of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, b) Establish comparison of the facts analyzed and reported on exercise leadership at the Treasury of the State of Rio Grande do Sul and make the proper correspondence with the theory studied c) propose considering the theoretical and challenges identified in this work, requirements to be considered for future training programs managers.
