Abstract	The present work has the objective to show and analyze the evolution of the institutionalization and the design of the Humanization Protocol of the Assistance to the Victims of Sexual Violence from its idealization to the present day. Among the specific objectives, the work recalls the history of sexual violence in Brazil and in the world, as well as the care for victims of sexual violence and about the politics of attention for these victims in Brazil. The Humanization Protocol of Assistance to Victims of Sexual Violence aims to decentralize the collection and preservation of vestiges and evidences, when the medical examination of the victim in the public hospitals accredited, avoiding their attendance for a new examination at IML and allowing the forensic report indirectly. Thus, the Protocol is intended to make the service more humanized in order to reduce the exposure of the person who suffered violence, avoiding the victims to be subjected to various procedures, as well as offer elements to the accountability of the perpetrators of violence. Three research techniques were used, in order to complement each other, such as bibliographic research, documentary research and data collection through interviews. Through the interviews and documental research, it was concluded that the Protocol is a fantastic initiative and a considerable progress as regards in humanized care for victims in general. However, because of numerous actors, limited resources and a state with many municipalities as Minas Gerais, a long way will have to be taken to bring the Protocol closer to the ideal.
