| Abstract | Resumen Se presenta el estudio tecnico-economico para la obtencion de acido sulfurico por medio del proceso de contacto doble. Con base en las caracteristicas de los gases residuales generados por la tostacion de piritas se selecciona la tecnologia de limpieza del efluente y el proceso de produccion de acido sulfurico. Para la limpieza de los gases se establece utilizar un tren de separacion conformado por un separador ciclonico, un lavador Venturi, un eliminador de neblina y dos precipitadores electrostaticos de neblina acida. Ademas, para la sintesis de trioxido de azufre se disena un convertidor catalitico de cuatro camas. Finalmente, se presentan la estimacion de los costos de capital y la factibilidad economica para dos concentraciones de producto. Palabras clave: acido sulfurico, tostacion de piritas, gases residuales, precipitador electrostatico Production of Sulphuric Acid by Treatment of Residual Gases Generated by Pyrite Roasting Abstract A technical-economical study of the sulphuric acid production by the double-contact process is presented. Based on the characteristics of the residual gases produced by pyrite roasting the effluent cleaning technology and the sulphuric acid production process were selected. To clean out the gaseous effluent a separation train that consists in a cyclone separator, a Venturi washer, a mist eliminator, and two electrostatic precipitators were considered. Also, for the sulphur trioxide synthesis a four-bed catalytic converter was designed. Finally, the capital cost estimation and the economic feasibility for two product concentrations are presented. |
