Abstract	This study aims to analyze the need of the Brazilian prison system to work the rehabilitation of the convict, with actions ranging from formal education in prisons, workshops work, participation of the convict in citizenship actions. Where it is up to the government to seek rehabilitation mechanism, starting from actions that allow the convict to develop morally and technically. Breaking empirically that prisons are schools of crime, so the article is based on Laws, Decrees and Federal Constitution.
