| Abstract | This research work is performed in order to determine the level of knowledge about HPV and its prevention in patients in reproductive age comprised between the ranges of 14-25 years of age attending the consultation of health center Palanda parish, which is located in the canton of the same name, in the province of Zamora Chinchipe. This parish geographically situated south-east of Ecuador. A 150 km from the city of Loja, has a population of 3,550 inhabitants. For which a quantitative study, descriptive, cross-cut was made. Taking as a method of data collection survey which allowed us to determine that 53% of the study group does not know HPV, 47% have some level of knowledge which is distributed as follows: 27% have a level Low knowledge, 18% a medium level of knowledge, 2% a higher level of knowledge. Regarding prevention practices carried out this study group we applied the 59% abstinence, monogamy 29%, 9% used condoms, 71% did not consume alcohol, do not consume 100% cigarette, finally 100% of users has not been applied to this virus vaccine Keywords: level of knowledge, prevention, hpv |
