| Abstract | The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) applies a new Model of Integrated Health Care (MAIS) in all health units at national level, incorporating the strategy of Renewed Primary Health Care (PHC-R). In 2012 the Salcedo Health District 05D06 showed the 10 leading causes of morbidity are diseases that can and should be treated in primary care. MAIS implementation requires monitoring and evaluation. The MSP authorities need to verify that the objectives are correct or otherwise establish necessary corrections in order to provide health services with the following characteristics: equity, quality, effectiveness and efficiency. The research project proposes monitoring and evaluation of MAIS in Salcedo Health District 05D06, by using the PCAT (Primary Care Assessment Tool) instrument validated in the Republic of Argentina, because the instrument is not approved in Ecuador. The survey will work with adult users who come to the units of primary care and also to system providers. The proposed methodology is mixed, qualitative and quantitative because it uses a predefined survey that measures and evaluates the R-PHC based on international standards. |
