| Abstract | MAHMUDDIN, 10 PEDI 2157, MADRASAH HEAD LEADERSHIP MANAGEMENT IN INCREASING EDUCATIONAL QUALITY OF STATE MADRASAH ALIYAH 1 PANYABUNGAN MANDAILING NATAL DISTRICT Postgraduate Thesis IAIN-SU Medan, 2012. This study aims to find out the planning, organizing, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of madrasa head leadership management in increasing State Madrasah Aliyah 1 (MAN 1) Panyabungan educational quality. Data for this study were obtained from interview with madrasah head, vice madrasah head, administration head, madrasah committee, and teachers. Observations and document study including madrasah profile, infrastructure condition, and board announcement were also conducted to obtain data. During field study, the researcher obtained data on the process of planning, vision and mission creation, organization, implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation done by madrasah head to increase educational quality. Based on the field study, it was found that madrasah planning involves funding management, infrastructure procurement, curriculum development and staff training. Coordination were done through structuring of organization, supporting staff, task division, and lesson schedule necessary to achieve educational quality. Implementation were carried out according to plan. Coordination by madrasah head were done through allocation of task to capable teachers possessing appropriate qualification. Monitoring involved three steps: preliminary monitoring, activity monitoring, and feedback monitoring. Evaluation were used as materials to impove future planning. The ideal madrasah head leadership management in increasing educational quality of MAN 1 Panyabungan was not fully realized. This was due to several reasons, such as lack of infrastructure, lack of capable human resource, and limited funding. |
