Abstract	The main focus of the paper is to analyze the importance of emotions such as anger, fear and hope in intergroup intractable conß icts-in their emergence, duration and solving. According to the Bar-Tal’s and Krisberg’s concept, an intractable conß ict produces speciÞ c ethos that enables an individual to function in stressful conditions. It also inß uences tendency to generate collective emotions. The emotions play role in formation of barriers between groups in peace process. However, they can also have positive repercussions and encourage feud parts to take risk and try to negotiate peace.
