| Abstract | The Tebessa region is characterised by a semi arid climate and a very heterogeneous geology. The Tebessa plain is bordered at the east by the Triassic évaporitic formation, whereas the northern and southern parts are characterized by the outcrops of limestones. The plain itself is composed of alluvium dominated by clays and sands. According to field observation, the alluvial water table of Tebessa plain is exposed to pollution, and to assess the extent of this water pollution, two methods were used: (1) the DRASTIC method which combines the information given by seven parameters leading to draw the map of vulnerability to pollution and (2) a method based on hydrochemistry emphasizing the results of the Sr2+/Ca2+ ratios. |
