Abstract	O artigo examina a construcao historica da sociedade civil na relacao com o Estado e suas implicacoes para a democracia, a partir das contribuicoes de autores classicos, para, em seguida, analisar a dinâmica propria do caso brasileiro e consequentes desdobramentos para a organizacao social e cultural. Abstract This paper examines the historical building of civil society and its relationship with the State and democratical implications, fom classical authors´contribution, after that it analyses the dynamics of a Brazilian case and its follow-up in a cultural and social organization.
