Abstract	Multilevel spreading sequences are very efficient in direct sequence code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) compared to the binary sequences. We compare the performance of the most useful binary sequences (Gold, large sets and small sets of Kasami sequences) with each other, then we study the performance of complex sequences which have quasi-perfect autocorrelation functions and nulls crosscorrelation functions: Goutelard Q-ary sequences, these latter allow an increase of the channel capacitcy.
