| Abstract | Collaboration between clients and contractors in construction projects is still poorly supported by ICT due to the lack of a common modelling framework and a common open service platform that can enable interoperability and decision making on various levels. In this paper we present an approach towards the development of such a platform, elaborated within the frames of the German research project Mefisto. Central investigated concepts are (1) the use of a common collaboration ontology providing for multi-model logistics, (2) the use of a set of interoperability services providing for horizontal, vertical and longitudinal information integration, and (3) special services and tools for efficient simulation of various construction processes to help working out mutually beneficial decisions. |
