| Abstract | Oil has been a very important resource for the Ecuadorian economy. Since the 70s it has represented a significant percentage in the trade balance of Ecuador, allowing it to have a surplus in the balance of payments by oil account. At the end of 2014 the price of oil fell due to external factors, which aggravated the Ecuadorian economy. This project consists of taking four significant variables for Ecuador, IDEAC, Real GDP, Inflation and Current Account and to observe the relationship with the variables of the Price of Oil and Quantity per Thousand Barrels. A SVAR model was made taking quarterly periods from 2002 until the second quarter of 2016 to check the relation of the oil with the mentioned variables. |
