| Abstract | It is well established, that for a stainless steel material with austenitic structure, the temperature , the plastic deformation and the way of loading are dete rmining factors in the evolution of the kinetics of the martensitic transformation with large plastic defor mations. Actually, the existed approached in litera ture is the kinetic of martensitic transformation under simple tensile and compression test. In this case, it was shown that a dissymmetry of the behaviour due to th e loading path affects fully the obtained results. The objective of this work is to elucidate, first o f all, in the case of wide traction (planar deforma tion), the evolution of the kinetics of the martensitic transf ormation at low temperatures going from 0°C until t he cryogenic temperature at -196°C. Then, we will ill ustrate the numerical identification of the martens itic induced by large plastic strain using a phemenologi cal modeling.
