| Abstract | Objetive. Studying the relationship between religion and consumption of alcohol in teenagers from different religions, as well as the influence of the family in the consumption and the worries on health. Method. Questionnaire autoadministered to a sample of 2890 subjects in the Community of Madrid, 47,5% women and 52,5% men between 12 and 17 years (M= 12, 09 years; DT= 2,25). Results. For family, there were differences in teenager ́s consumption depending on the circumstances their parents were drinking with them. Brothers did not turn out to be influential. There was obtained that, to major family care, minor consumption of alcohol in teenagers. People identified with a religious group (Muslims, Christians and “other religions”) consume less than people who do not, turning out to be Muslim the religion that more protects. Conclusions. It is necessary to pay attention to the differences between religions when achieving preventive programs, to adapt them to specific populations. Taking into account family, type of consume with teenagers and the perception they have about health regarding to alcohol consume, it will help in future investigations to create functional programs of prevention. |
