Abstract	The aging of the population causes the increase of the degenerative diseases, especially of the Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). The understanding of the process of transition of the healthy aging for the AD finds obstacles in the lack of neuropsychological markers. The objective of this article is to analyze the contribution of the neuropsychological assessment in the early identification of the AD. The clinical concept of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) makes possible to investigate empirically the transition period between the healthy aging and the AD and to establish neuropsychological markers for early identification. The article concludes presenting some recommendations for future investigations.
