Abstract	Along this paper a review and critical analysis of recent changes on legal and instrumental framework of Spatial Planning and Landscape protection in Valencian Autonomous Region is made. Special attention is paid to how Participation takes part on them. By using some examples, it presents the way in which Spatial Decision Support Systems and spatial information (for instance through GIS) contribute to effective participation and to appropriate territorial and landscape impact assessment. A review of the state of the art and prospective on Territorial Impact Assessment at international level is made as closure.
