| Abstract | This article reflects on the process of ageing of the Brazilian population and the increase of the index of HIV infection among people aged 50 or older in the country. One intends to demonstrate that, although the increase, this segment still seems to be invisible to the eyes of the society and the State and that the improvement of the sexual activity is not followed by information and there are no actions towards prevention of sexually transmissible illnesses for this parcel of the population. One also intends to present how some people of this age, who receive a reference service for people with HIV/AIDS in the city of Vitoria – state of Espirito Santo, are living with the illness and which internal and external devices are used by these individuals. |
