| Abstract | Position of remedial pedagogy in the context of reforms in the higher education system The aim of the following paper is to present the position of remedial pedagogy in the higher education system in the context of reforms taking place in higher education. Systemic reforms, their aims and objectives, are factors affecting thinking about the education of remedial pedagogues, while the dynamics of social change and economy somehow force the need for changes in their training process. Current higher education reform includes changes in educational viewpoints in general, highlighting the needs and circumstances of the labour market. At the same time, the current legal status makes it impossible to clearly define the range of skills and the position of remedial pedagogue on the labour market. The ideas of university education, yet autonomous, open up new opportunities for remedial pedagogues but at the same time their professional and social status remains undefined, blur, and in consequence undervalued and even threatened with professional marginalisation. |
