| Abstract | The current research study was cross-sectional correlational with a quantitative approach. Its purpose was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction in a sample of 50 people, men and women, who work in mid-level positions in three different private industrial-service companies located in the city of Quito. The TMMS-48 test, developed by Salovey and Mayer (1995) in its summarized version, translated to Spanish by Fernandez-Berrocal, Alcaide, Dominguez, Fernandez-McNally, Ramos, and Rovira (1998) TMMS-24, was used to measure the degree of emotional intelligence.
