| Abstract | The urban forestry provides benefits to population health and the environment. As a result, a quantitative-qualitative analysis of the urban afforestation was carried out in the Bernardino Bogo village in Mandaguaçu / Pr. The parameters of the arborization analyzed were: identification of the species, size, origin, wiring of the electric network, planting position and tree quality. Data analysis showed 257 plant species of arboreal and shrub species, with the oiti tree (Licania tomentosa (Benth.) Fritsch) corresponding to 72.4% of the individuals and sibipiruna (Caesalpinia pluviosa DC.) at 18.7%. It was observed that L. tomentosa and C. pluviosa. Were found above the recommended level. Among the individuals found, it stands out the coreutéria (Koelreuteria paniculata Laxm.), murta (Murraya paniculata (L.) Jack. of native origin and resedá (Lagerstroemia indica (L.) Pers.) as exotic. The condition of the root system, 46.5% of all the individuals analyzed had root outcrops affecting the sidewalk and about 52.3% without outcrops and only 1.2% with outcropping in the free area of the pavement. Only 14% has a suitable area with a drainage floor. This result is alarm ing, the urbanization process entails numerous environmental changes, such as the reduction of water infiltration into the soil, causing flooding, silting and erosion. From these analyzes, we propose the creation of a guide for afforestation, the change of the municipal law of afforestation, the qualification of qualified professionals and the proper pruning. Urban planning needs to be rethought in a sustainable way so that the population and the environment do not suffer from the current problems presented in these areas. |
