| Abstract | The study on the royal treasuries in America during the Bourbon dynasty has tended to focus on its strictly fiscal and expenditure dimensions: the collection, the introduction of taxes and new monopolies, the expenditures, have attracted the attention of a good part of the historiography. Meanwhile, the chronological arc tended to focus on the years that follow from 1780, when the process of reforms in the fiscal orbit condenses and offers a parameter for the analysis of its definitive crisis, once the revolutionary thresholds have been crossed to the 1820s. This Dossier reopens the questions about the periodization of those transformations, as well as the questions about the changing conception of the government of the Treasury in the Indies and the implications that this had in the circulation of fiscal resources, trying to offer a panorama on the ways in which the policy inhabited the Royal Treasury during a century of defining convulsions. |
