| Abstract | Behavioral assessment in relapse prevention of drugs addiction: current status and clinical applications. The high frecuency of relapses continues to be one of the most serious problems in the treatment of drug addiction. This article provides an overview of the most important procedures for assessment the process involved in relapse. There are five proposed stategies: self-monitorings, description of past relapses, relapse fantasies, direct observation and self-reports. There is special emphasis on the clinical utility of the procedures and on the implication of planing and carring out the intervention in the relapse prevention programs. |
