Abstract	The Immunohistochemistry of CD34 and a variety of antibodies in 61 cases of benign and malignant fusiform tumors was examined. The diagnosis were those of solitary fibrous tumor, gastrointestinal stromal tumors, smooth muscle tumors, fibrohistiocytic tumors, adipose tissue, perivascular and vascular tumors. The tumors showed fusiform cells, however their clinicopathological appearance and prognosis were different. The importance of immunohistochemistry and particularly of CD34 in the differential diagnosis of these tumors is discussed.
