| Abstract | In this paper we present standalone SDL-based model for performance analysis and planning of IEEE 802.11a Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). The usage of WLAN has been extended from the indoor environment to the Internet access services in the outdoor environment. This implies particular needs for optimizing WLAN radio coverage. Also, one needs maximization of the throughput in the wireless channel. The fulfillment of these demands mostly depends on the placement of access points (APs), number of users, type of the environment and number of available channels. Therefore in this paper, using Specification and Description Language (SDL) model, we have created a powerful tool for analysis, planning and optimization of 802.11a wireless networks. |
