| Abstract | Through, so far, it is only offered the evolution of he esquileo and the prices for arroba of the pile of wool of the Hospital del Rey (Burgos), having the woollen product for that institution between 1604 and 1866 allow us to contemplate the development of an essential raw material in the Ancient Euro pean and Spanish Regime, which, up to now, was now only related to the 18th Century. The way is open to new researches which can discover the volume of the cabaña, the output for sheep, the investments, expenses and profits of that transhumance activity and the impact of the wool in the economy of the Hospital, among other matters of general interest. The analysis of the phases though which its remate roams and the peculiarities and vicissitudes the mercadeo of the vellums were subjected, puts in my opinion, a new piece in the puzzle, still quite disorganized, of the history of Burgos. |
