| Abstract | SUMMARY Forearm fractures are frequent in children, the most common treatment is closed reduction and casting of the upper extremity but there is a percentage which are unstables due to the characteristics of the fracture that require open reduction. The open treatment most used is plating of the radius and ulna, which has yielded excellent results. The use of centromedullary nailing has been proposed as a treatment of the forearm fractures in children due to the possibility of maintain the alienation, less aggression to the soft tissues and promotes consolidation. We present 14 cases, 6 treated with centromedullary nails and 8 with plates with excellent results. |
