| Abstract | Justice perceptions and organizational commitment: moderator role of organization based self-esteem Abstract In the context of growing concern with perceptions of organizational justice and organizational commitment, this empirical study tested the role of self-esteem that have been suspected to intervene as moderator of this relationship. Self-esteem was measured along with procedural and interactional justice evaluations in a survey conducted with a sample of bank employees from all hierarchical ranks in Istanbul, Turkey (N = 272). The results of moderation analyses clearly indicate a significant effect of organizational self-esteem on the link between justice perceptions (for both procedural and interactional) and organizational commitment. People are more committed to organizations that they evaluate as just only when they have high organizational self-esteem. keywords: organization justice, self-esteem, organizational commitment 108 Resume Cette etude empirique a permis de tester le role moderateur de l'estime de soi organisationnelle au sein de la relation entre la justice organisationnelle et l'engagement organisationnel. L'estime de soi, les justices procedurale et interactionnelle ainsi que l'engagement organisationnel ont ete mesures dans une enquete menee aupres d'un echantillon d'employes de banque de plusieurs niveaux hierarchiques a Istanbul, en Turquie (N = 272). Les resultats des analyses de moderation indiquent clairement un effet significatif de l'estime de soi organisationnelle sur le lien entre les perceptions de justice (a la fois procedurale et interactionnelle) et l'engagement organisationnel. Ainsi, quand les salaries ont une estime de soi elevee, ils sont plus sensibles au marques de justice au sein de l'organisation et leur engagement organisationnel est significativement plus important. |
