| Abstract | The paper presents methodological assumptions of evaluating landscape aesthetic value in the process of the implementation of the European Landscape Convention and determining general rules for landscape auditing and defining the priority landscape – particularly valuable because of inter alia aesthetic-scenic values. The method for assessing the landscape aesthetic value (EEVL) developed by the author was used to evaluate Pozezdrze Community (The Masurian Lake District). Measurements and landscape aesthetic value maps were prepared in 2008 and 2015. The gained results allow for determining changes in landscape aesthetic values during 7 years. High visual attractiveness of the landscape and fast loss of the attractiveness on the research area were found. They are connected with a decrease of areas with the predominance of natural elements and introduction of technical, tourism and recreation infrastructure. The applied method can be a tool used for developing and protecting rural landscapes of lake districts. |
