| Abstract | The use of continuous fractions and their connection to the Fibonacci sequence as part of the theory of ladder-type electric circuits is not a new issue. However, it is a matter that is improvable in order to gain an insight into the same issue but from a different perspective. In this work: we present an overview of traditional techniques through the use of a generalization of the Fibonacci sequence which is broader and easier to apply, as well as, leading to the same results without invoking other special relations, as, for example, the Morgan-Voyce polynomials. The results in this work correspond to the nodal currents and voltages for a ladder circuit and the voltage along a continuous transmission line. We use the techniques of the matrix formalism: eigenvalues, diagonalization and potentiation of 2×2 matrices. |
