| Abstract | A global health sector strategy on viral hepatitis is critical considering the scale of the hepatitis pandemic, as well as the limited and fragmented response at the national and global levels. The viral hepatitis pandemic world-wide is responsible for an estimated 1.4 million deaths per year from acute infection and hepatitis-related liver cancer and cirrhosis. Hepatitis B accounts for 47% of these deaths and 48% are attributed to hepatitis C. |
