| Abstract | Postoperative seroma is a well-known but rare complication of surgery. As a rule, treatment of a seroma consists of continuous wound drainage combined with compression therapy. This approach, however, often results in long-drawn-out treatment and the patient may find the compression therapy stressful. Alternatively, regular aspiration or surgical clearance may be performed. Radiotherapy is another treatment option. Novel therapeutic approaches therefore offer interesting alternatives that increase patient satisfaction. |
